Work: That`s me

In my opinion… Help really helps!
Personal engagement can do a lot. And it feels good to join a big family!
In May 2019, I seized the chance to accompany a therapist from Lübeck on her visit to Kianagara Children’s Home in Kenya, where they help children with traumatic experiences to learn normal life.
In the suitcase I had a small wooden box with some brass sheet and wire and a small selection of goldsmith tools for different working steps. It´s amazing what the children where able to create in 3 weeks! One of the smaller boys was always smiling at me, but when he was drawing a small abstract figure, he formed the mouth as a straight, severe line, looking not happy at all. “Is this you?” I asked him. With a bright smile on his face he said: “Yes, that`s me!”.
Inspired by the children’s drawings and the amulets we created together, I started a little collection, applying similarly simple manufacturing techniques.
Wearing the amulet, we can feel somehow connected to the children.
