Brooches - silver, cotton, steel
„The Tender Eyes” brooches symbolise the wise eyes of
many generations of women who have seen injustice and
opposed it. Tender eyes are hope for the world on the
brink of ecological and social disaster. They see unequality
that arises of people’s gender, background, sexual
orientation. They see the insensitivity to human tragedies,
cruelty to animals and the whole natural world. They see
and react.
The extended middle finger is aimed at all forms of injustice,
including patriarchy deeply rooted in our culture,
both in men and women, while handshake symbolises
agreement and solidarity.
Today in Polish streets we can often see the slogan „You
will never walk alone”; in such solidarity and joint opposition
to injustice lies the strength and hope for a better
tomorrow for women, men and the entire planet.
Hope and future are both feminine gender in Polish, hope and the future are female.
