We had no idea they would become outdated so quickly.
If you visit the exhibition today, many of the works will not be on display. And this is not the fault of the organisers or the management of the Nadwiślańskie Museum. We respect what they did, they have our support, because they are wonderful people who have been put in a logically absurd situation.
Our project, which aims to reinvest the jewellery sign with a status of a message, has suffered the meddling intrusion of people who understand little or nothing about the message of art. Who, for example, do not distinguish between the idea of an exhibition and its element. They think short term. Their logic loses out to their ego.
Present-day decision-makers at various levels, appointed (by virtue of their position rather than wisdom or competence) to wisely support creative activities – took offence. Not at the project, I believe. Rather at some opinions.
The topics these “sages” found the most offensive are over and over again, to the point of boredom, brought up by the mass media (managed by their “political option”). And while they themselves and “their” media start discussions on these topics, the individual response of artists, the creative commentary of a few people can throw them off balance. Isn’t it their weakness? Are they really so insecure of their opinion?
People can be great or little. Well, there are some people who are not ashamed to understand so little. They are politicians. Of questionable calibre.
So much for today. We do not know what the near future will bring and we do not know the future of this exhibition.
Littleness can be harmful.
